The river of time has flown by since that first Dayton nationals. Most of the movers and shakers of Region Six who dreamed big — dreamed of the perfect Stock Outboard Nationals have passed on.
Folks like Don Allen Senior, Fred Miller, JoAnne Ellis and several others who were integral in the preparation and successful running of one of the greatest nationals in the history of the sport (the following year at the same venue, there were even more entries).
While the group Kansas might sing we are only “dust in the wind”, hopefully these images, keep those great days alive for those who remain, and for those who come later.
